Why you’ll love this recipe

  • It’s a great way to use up ripe peaches! Soft, juicy peaches are the best in this recipe.
  • Make this for a summer cookout or picnic! This can be made a day in advance for easy entertaining.
  • Refreshing, light, and hydrating – a tasty way to quench your thirst during hot summer days.
  • A healthier version than store bought peach juice – perfect for kids.

Ingredients you’ll need

slices of white peaches next to lime
  • Ripe peaches – any variety will do. I used white peaches for this recipe.
  • Cold, filtered water
  • Limes – fresh lime juice is best
  • Sweetener – use any sweetener you like. Sugar, honey, agave syrup, or stevia.
  • Herbs – optional but I recommend thyme, mint, rosemary, or basil.

Step by step instructions

Add the peaches and water to your blender and puree until it’s smooth. Work in batches if you need to as it’s best not to overfill your blender.

Straining the peach agua fresca is optional but highly recommended. You’ll end up with a smooth peach juice without all the pulp.

If you plan on serving this at a later time, the pulp and juice will separate. But this can be avoided if you strain it ahead of time.

Taste the agua fresca and add sugar to taste. If your peaches are very sweet, reduce the amount of sweetener. Muddle the herbs before adding to infuse their flavors more.

Serve chilled or over ice and garnish with a slice of peach or lime.

Expert tips & tricks

  • Muddling the herbs helps infuse their flavor into the peach agua fresca.
  • It’s best to use a medium sieve to strain out the peach pulp. A fine mesh strain would be too fine and may take too long to strain out the juice.
  • Freeze a portion of the peach agua fresca in ice cube trays. Add them to the pitcher before serving to keep it cold without diluting the flavor.

Serving suggestions

  • Add fresh pieces of peach in the drinks for an extra treat.
  • Rim the glasses with lime zest and sugar for presentation.
  • Freeze a portion of the peach agua fresca in an ice cube tray and add them to the pitcher before serving. It will help keep this drink ice cold without diluting the flavor.

What a GORGEOUS, deliciously refreshing drink – so perfect with the peaches that are still absolutely beautiful right not (but are going fast)! Really great tip to freeze some of it in ice cube trays so regular ice cubes don’t dilute it – thanks for the suggestion!
