Peach Agua Fresca

Delicious peach agua fresca made with sweet peaches, water, lime juice, and sweetener. A refreshing peach drink popular in Mexico using juicy seasonal peaches!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups peaches
  • 5 cups filtered water
  • 1 - 2 teaspoons lime juice - add more if desired
  • fresh herbs - thyme, rosemary, mint, basil - (optional)
  • peach or lime slices for garnish

Sweetener (choose ONE, adjust according to taste)

Instructions

  • Add the peaches and water to a high speed blender and puree until smooth. Make sure not to fill your blender more than two-thirds of the way full. Work in batches if needed.

  • (Optional) Strain the peach juice through a medium sieve to remove the pulp.

  • Pour the peach agua fresca into a large pitcher and add the lime juice and sweetener. Adjust the sweetener according to how sweet your peaches are. If using herbs, muddle them first before adding them in. Serve chilled or over ice. Makes roughly 7 cups.

Notes

  • Make ahead a day in advance. Keep in an airtight container in the fridge.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one day.
  • Substitute frozen peaches if fresh peaches are not in season.
  • Taste before adding sweetener. If your peaches are very sweet, reduce the amount.
